To the Midpoint and Beyond…
So here we all are, on the eve of an annual life reevaluation with one year/decade ending and another beginning, AND on the eve of a MR in Capricorn.
To use this time wisely I would counsel a reorganization and reassessment of your priorities within the context of the Capricorn archetypal themes.
Ultimately this retrograde brings a deep surrender and review of our authentic ambition and responsibilities.
We are asked by Mercury to receive a new message from our soul regarding what motivates our goals in life. This will …

Power vs. Powerlessness
One of the greatest spiritual tasks we are continually asked to engage is the discernment of where we have power in life and where we don’t.
Said another way, when do we need to apply self-effort (Capricorn) vs. allowing grace to do its thing.
I’ve noticed that in my own life I’ve spent so much time trying to control things I simply cannot; such as whether someone will abandon me, whether people like me or not, how many copies my book sells, whether someone loves me or not, how folks …

Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn
December 26th, 2009 – January 15th, 2009
This Mercury Retrograde (MR) officially begins on December 26th (right after Christmas, nice right??) and ends in the New Year on January 15th, 2010.
Yet as previously mentioned, the set up phase has been in motion since December 9th when Mercury entered into the degree of Capricorn it will retrogress back to.
As Capricorn as an archetype has to do with our ambitions and goals in the world, the poignancy of this MR bridging us from the last year into the next is …

Today the holiday movie season goes into high gear.
My friends are all going to see Avatar this weekend, and Clayton and I plan to as well. I haven’t been this excited about seeing a movie for a long time. Plus it helps that Clayton was concertmaster for the soundtrack – which means he led the orchestra from the first violin chair.
Avatar’s soundtrack was composed by James Horner, who has a longstanding relationship with James Cameron. Horner has already received two Golden Globe nominations for the music.
Let’s look at the release …

I’m infatuated with Light. Especially thermal light, because I live in the north and I’m always cold this time of year. I’m a consummate heat seeker (gimme flannel pj’s, hot cocoa and a fluffy divan – and I’m done like a Christmas dinner).
When I moved to New York from Texas, I encountered major shifting paradigms in Christmas traditions. It’s not that my in-laws partied differently from my Texan kin – it’s because I’d never experienced such a distance from the Sun before. It may sound funny, but my first frigid, …

It is on rare occasion I will say, “I told you so”.
And this is one of those occasions.
Those who are familiar with my work know I am diligent in my research of the merging of science and spirituality.
And those who are familiar with my work also know I am diligent in my research for the perfect piece of chocolate.
To that end, I now carry OMG!!! chocolate bark in my online store. It’s one of the best tasting chocolates I’ve ever had.
Created by gourmet chef Kim Lewis, OMG!!! chocolate bark ranks …

In Ladies and Gentlemen; Allow me to introduce you to TED, I give a call to action to spend some time on the website TED, encouraging you to learn, share and reconnect.
Who would I be if I didn’t participate in the same?
To that end, allow me to introduce you to Chimamanda Adichie.
In her speech, The Danger of a Single Story, Chimamanda tells of the perils of perpetuating and believing just one “story” about a situation, place or people.
In a sometimes funny, sometimes poignant but always charming manner, Chimamanda shares different …

On the Internet these days there are billions of videos we could spend our time watching. And there is some great stuff out there.
But on a website named, simply, TED all the videos world changing and life altering.
TED’s mission statement is simple: Spreading ideas.
Additionally, TED is self-described only as “…a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading”.
So, because of the simplicity, it may, at first glance, appear TED wouldn’t have a great deal to offer.
Nothing could be farther from the truth.
A second look at TED and you’ll find videos of …

With Alexa Ray Joel in the news recently, I have received questions about her and her parents – Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel.
Alexa and her dad singer songwriter Billy Joel have a lot in common.
They share the exact same Life Lesson Number 37/10/1. They also share the exact same Essence vibration, 14/5 – the Media Number. And they both have 8 current names.
It’s no surprise Alexa is trying to follow in her famous dad’s footsteps.
Additionally, Alexa and Billy Joel are always in the same Personal Year. In 2009 it’s a …
