Lifting Layers of Symbolism in Myths

Myths are jam-packed with symbolic levels that once acknowledged, can have a tremendous impact on human consciousness.  Myths are also designed to have a multi-layered effect upon the observer.
One myth is like a miniature world.  A world in which there are seemingly infinite avenues of wisdom imparted.  Each avenue within a story points in a philosophical direction.  Moving within a myth, we are offered symbolic cues – signposts, roadmaps, landmarks – all of these are waiting for our awareness to discover.
And once uncovered, these symbolic breadcrumbs can catalyze our understanding.  …

Intuition 101: How to Tune into Soul FM!

Intuition is a natural part of all of us. As multisensory beings we all have it. It’s commonly known as the sixth sense and extends beyond your five physical senses to a larger awareness that spans both space and time.
Our culture has long honored logic and intellect as the most valuable way to experience the world. We tend to love facts and figures and distrust what we cannot prove. Yet, intuition is one of your most powerful senses. Okay, I know I’m kind of biased as an intuitive! But, even …

Peace of Mind Meditation

This is a great article written by one of our resident guest authors, astrologist Shelley von Strunckel.  There is no astrology here, but lots of peace of mind. And to accompany this article I’ve pulled one of my meditations from my I Am Grace CD called Deep to help you relax into it.

The first time I saw anybody meditating, I was in my late teens. It was at the Vedanta Society Temple in Hollywood, a lovely if tiny refuge from the excesses of that city located, bizarrely, by the Hollywood …

The Art of Good Dialogue: Decrease Conflict and Revitalize Your Relationships!

Does the idea of communicating with your loved one involve idle chit chat while gazing at the T.V.? Are you struggling with conflict and disagreements with your partner?
Good communication is essential to having a loving, harmonious relationship. But, most of us were never really taught the art of relationship dialogue. Sure, we read magazine articles about finding the right moment to express our needs and how we need to learn how to compromise, etc. We try to keep trying to get them to hear our point of view and then …

The Scent of Attraction and the T-Shirt Test : What sexy smell do you like?

When it comes to the opposite sex, most of us like to think we have a “type.” Whether you gravitate to rugged George Clooney look-a-likes or you tend to prefer upbeat Sandra Bullock types, you can probably make a snap decision on whether someone is your type or not. But, what exactly is your type?
With all the new research into biology and attraction, it might be time to think again about how you define your “type.” Over my next few blogs, I’m going to focus on the science and intuition …

We Are the World: A Prayer for Haiti and Our Global Community

Like many of you, I’ve been watching the news reports roll in on the tragic earthquake in Haiti with deep sadness. It’s so heartbreaking to see so much loss and suffering. As I watched the news from my peaceful living room in Sedona, I couldn’t help but feel so far away from the images of pain and turmoil. I wondered what I could do to make a difference. I felt powerless looking at the dramatic scale of suffering; if only I could discover a new superpower that could reverse this …

My Ingredients to Claim a Delicious Life: Become the Change!

Manifestation is all the rage. If we want the life of our dreams, we’re told to visualize. Keep picturing that new job and fantastically amazing relationship and it will come to fruition. Sprinkle in a little bit of positive thinking and then voilà! If it doesn’t work right away, we’re told to be patient and visualize some more. Then frustration sets in, and we beat ourselves up because we must be doing something wrong but can’t figure out what that is. Isn’t this exhausting?!
In my 22 years of teaching seminars, …

The Danger of a Single Story – Chimamanda Adichie

In Ladies and Gentlemen; Allow me to introduce you to TED, I give a call to action to spend some time on the website TED, encouraging you to learn, share and reconnect.
Who would I be if I didn’t participate in the same?
To that end, allow me to introduce you to Chimamanda Adichie.
In her speech, The Danger of a Single Story,  Chimamanda tells of the perils of perpetuating and believing just one “story” about a situation, place or people.
In a sometimes funny, sometimes poignant but always charming manner, Chimamanda shares different …

Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to TED

On the Internet these days there are billions of videos we could spend our time watching. And there is some great stuff out there.
But on a website named, simply, TED all the videos world changing and life altering.
TED’s mission statement is simple: Spreading ideas.
Additionally, TED is self-described only as “…a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading”.
So, because of the simplicity, it may, at first glance, appear TED wouldn’t have a great deal to offer.
Nothing could be farther from the truth.
A second look at TED and you’ll find videos of …
