The Prince, The Rainforest and The Fairytale
If I said, “We all must do what we can to save the Rainforests”…what would you actually hear?
More importantly, what would you actually do?
It certainly stands to reason I would write a blog post about the Rainforests.
I’m very vocal about my bond with the natural world and I encourage everyone who will listen to connect with Mother Earth as well.
Yes, preservation of the Rainforests is a hot topic. Everybody’s getting on the “Green” train.
The amount and speed of information hurtled at us today is almost incomprehensible. In many ways, having access to all the information is fantastic. Awareness of thousands of topics is raised everyday and almost, it seems, at the speed of light.
However, there’s so much repetition of the same information, same topics and same stories that, after awhile, the public can – and often times does – become desensitized.
In that, I’d be willing to bet, about half the people who started to read this article clicked out because they thought, “Oh…Rainforest…heard it all before…blah, blah, blah”.
And, so, if I said, “We must do all we can to save the Rainforests”…I’m sad to say, again, probably half of the people would actually hear “Rainforests…blah, blah, blah”.
Often times, when I write and I have a sense of urgency about the subject matter but just can’t quite get the words to flow in a manner I feel is compelling enough, I draw one of my Wisdom of Avalon Oracle Cards to point me in the right direction.
Works every, single time.
The card I drew this time? Love.
Of course it had to be that card!
First, the Love card is one of The Sacred Journey Markers. And, by my own definition, the Love card carries with it this message:
“…This marker asks you to shift perception from yourself as a solitary person on the earth to one who’s part of a living system. Love is what made you, so keep it flowing….This marker reminds you that you’re as connected to all of life as it is to you, and that you’re responsible to be the steward of the love of the God/Goddess…Love reminds you that this very planet is a living being…This marker is a very fortunate and transformative omen”-

Thank you Spirit!
No matter how many people blog about saving the Rainforests, talk about it, write songs about it, etc…it doesn’t matter. I love this planet and everything and everyone on it. Because of that, I will continue to be one more voice on the matter. I must…this action, along with others, are part of “doing my share”.
To that end, allow me to introduce The Prince of Wales’ Rainforests Project, www.rainforestsos.org.
As you can surmise by the URL, Prince Charles has launched an initiative to save the Rainforests. It my belief, this may be the very project that accomplishes the goal.
I wonder if this was a deliberate choice by the creators of the campaign or if Spirit is sending a Cledon…the online effort launched on May 5th of this year.
The fifth day of the fifth month… while we’re moving into the fifth world age…
Whomever it is that created the concept for the campaign…the “hook”…is brilliant.
The mascot for it?
A frog.
As we all know, Prince’s and frogs have a rich history together!
The celebrities and world leaders who’ve rallied around this project is a thing of beauty.
There’s some serious marketing savvy behind this project. From the look and feel of the website to the multi-media presentations on YouTube and the site itself to the interactive community where you can record and post your own “frog message”…the whole thing is amazing.
Additionally, there is a sister site created especially for children aged 3-16, as well as their parents and teachers, which has tons of free resources (lesson plans, games, contests, short videos). Its aim is to utilize the education sector to continue to raise awareness. Again…amazing.
All of these factors, combined with the power of social networking is what I believe will make this project the saving grace of the Rainforests.
Do your share today.
Spend some time reading on www.rainforestsos.org. Post the widget on your blog, social networking site and website.
Pass the site around to your friends and family. Urge them to do the same.
Remember, in doing so, you’re not spreading information…you’re spreading love…just like my Oracle card read.
