Unusual Animal Facts: Part 1
Just naming this post, “Unusual Animal Facts”, will result in it getting tons of hits.
People are fascinated by animals.
This, of course, will explain why we are so fascinated with what goes on in each other’s lives.
Humans are, after all…animals.
To that end, the “Unusual Animal Facts” I’ve written about in this post are inclusive of all the natural world’s animal kingdom.
Unusual Animal Facts #1:
Look at the popularity of the blog LOL Cats on http://www.icanhascheezburger.com. Millions and millions of people, from all over the world, log on to the site to view millions and millions of pictures and videos of millions and millions of…animals.
Marc and I spend as much time as the next guy “Ooo-ing and awww-ing” over the videos and pictures on www.icanhascheezburger.com…maybe more. We love the site and so does everybody we know!
Unusual Animal Facts #2:
In my blog post, “Start Your Own Animal Shelter”, I share with you a bit of the personal responsibility I’ve taken on pertaining to the animal portion of our natural world and ask if you will make the commitment to do the same.
The creators of LOL Cats, Eric Nakagawa (Cheezburger) and Kari Unebasami (Tofuburger) have, albeit unwittingly, started their own animal shelter…for all animals (
humans included!).
First, the love, humor and heart shared by the millions who visit the site, share the files, talk about what they see, hear, and feel manifests SUCH enormous amounts of positive energy it’s incredible
Second, the shared experiences millions have while shooting the pictures and videos (both with other humans and interacting with the animals) again, manifests colossal good will directed toward animals as they are the central subject matter. The Universe does read that energy and pass it on.
Unusual Animal Facts #3:
Your love is making a making a difference…somehow…some way.
Unusual Animal Facts #4:
As an animal shelter, LOL Cats is responsible for social change in a way that can never be measured.
How many people having an awful day look at that site, laugh at something they see and it turns their day around entirely? Now, that turnaround affected how many other lives? Maybe they didn’t snap at their child or co-worker but, instead, greeted them with laughter and lightness of spirit. Maybe the turnaround gave that person the extra energy and drive to do something special “just because”.
How many people who do not have pets will look at that site and adopt a cat, dog, bunny, etc.? (Hopefully AFTER careful consideration as to the real commitment of doing so)
How many an office environment where there may have been tenseness is brought back to a state of balance and harmony by the sharing of ”Ooos and Awws” while viewing the site?
Unusual Animal Facts #5:
How many of you have never heard of the site but will go there now and giggle, sigh and…LOL?
Unusual Animal Facts #6:
LOL Cats started as a funny picture sent from one friend to another and for no other reason than to cheer them up.
Unusual Animal Facts #7:
My explanation of why LOL Cats is so popular is simple.
We’re all interconnected.
That and LOL Cats “could” be considered Animal Totem Central.
What are the spirit messages we take away from watching a video about an elephant? What power do we connect with when we’re inexplicably drawn to a picture of a hawk? What magic happens when a child learns about the natural world via LOL Cats?
Unusual Animal Facts #8:
This is the last fact of this post. I deliberately chose to stop with number 8 because it is the number of eternity and perfect balance.
It’s also my favorite fact from this post.
Early on in the creation of www.icanhascheezburger.com, the site got so popular and so big so fast, the creators had to ask the internet community for monetary donations to keep it going.
The money flowed.
Go out of your way for someone today. It can change the world!

Now I see why you were so positive when I recommended this website in the forum on your previous website! rofl These cats and other animals start my day off with a laugh or an “Awwww, how cute!” every day! Its companion site with the loldogs is pretty cool, too. Love to all!
Thank you for sharing the beauty of this website and the need for people to do what is right rather than follow trends. I have a pedigree dog, he’s a rescued greyhound. He is a wonderful spirit in our home and I feel good in my heart for saving his life. You see he would have been destroyed at 4 years young if we didn’t step in, he was lucky,he’s 11 now- so many are not. Keep spreading the positive, we make changes one by one.
The website http://www.icanhascheezburger.com. is not working :0(
It seems to have been hacked or something. Thank you for sharing your site with us.
Cat and animal lovers should check out this website:

Curt LoGiudice does great work in Florida! Not only is he a caretaker to many beautiful animals, he also works hard to educate the public.

www.shelleyvonstrunckel.comFollowing your instincts is well and good when it makes sense. But now others are raising questions about the decisions you're making. Don't allow their doubts to undermine your confidence. Instincts aren't logical and so don't have straightforward explanations. This isn't about deductive reasoning. It's about trusting what you feel is right. By Shelley von Strunckel
Only days ago your ruler Venus moved into your opposite sign of Scorpio and the relationship angle of your chart. This means it's now time to deal with certain issues involving others, whatever the setting, that you were rather hoping would resolve themselves. They won't. And the sooner you address them, the better. By Shelley von Strunckel
There's a difference between talking about good ideas, which you've been doing a lot of lately, and those ideas being practical. Of course, with so much in transition, it's not easy to say what will actually work. However, with every passing day it's becoming increasingly clear which ones won't and can, therefore, be eliminated. By Shelley von Strunckel
The time has come to acknowledge that one particular plan or project into which you've invested considerable effort and, perhaps, heart isn't going as well as you hoped. In fact, it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Give it one last push if you must. But if nothing happens, let it go. By Shelley von Strunckel
Now that the expansive Jupiter has joined Uranus in accenting joint ventures, both of a personal and professional nature, it's difficult to say what will happen. But the odds are good it will be both profitable and unexpected. Knowing that, at least make an effort to investigate everything that comes your way. By Shelley von Strunckel
Discussion is important in any joint venture. However, there's a certain matter in which you're so convinced your thinking is correct that your intention is to explain your plans, not listen to what others have to say. This isn't just unwise, it could cause serious upset, and right when you need their support. By Shelley von Strunckel
Ordinarily, if anybody is offended or upset by something you've done you'll apologise right away. You'd rather keep others happy than face lengthy debates about who said or did what. But in one particular case, that's exactly what you must do. It's that or face more and more ridiculous demands from them. By Shelley von Strunckel
There are those who insist that facts are facts. However, as a Scorpio and somebody who has a gift for spotting what's behind the scenes, you're increasingly aware that certain situations aren't quite so simple. In fact, dramatic changes in circumstance have altered arrangements, meaning what was once true now isn't. By Shelley von Strunckel
Ever since the New Moon, which took place just recently, accented potential changes in elements of your domestic life or activities out in the world, you've been thinking about what to do first. You may not have to decide. By early next week events are likely to do it for you. By Shelley von Strunckel
Bear in mind that with Mercury still retrograde for a few more days, and with the after-effects lasting well into next week, things are bound to be more complicated than usual. While that may slow the pace, it can also mean that you finally have time to discuss certain perplexing concerns in depth. By Shelley von Strunckel
It would be easy to regard the failure of one plan or passion into which you've devoted considerable energy as a real setback. Instead, try to think of it as a learning curve. A steep one, perhaps, but also one that's provided experience and insights that will prove hugely valuable in the future. By Shelley von Strunckel
If you're feeling trapped, it's no surprise. The past weeks' events have focused almost exclusively on rather tedious practical or financial matters. You need a break. And you'll get it in some form when the energetic Mars's move to accent new people and places gives you the necessary get up and go. By Shelley von Strunckel
