Astrology: Finding Your Perfect Match
When I meet somebody new or encounter a stranger and it’s discovered that I am an astrologer, the question I’m asked most frequently is, bizarrely, “What sign am I?”
My response depends on my mood.
If I’m feeling patient, I’ll jokingly ask if they don’t know.
Ha ha ha.
But if I’m feeling a little more short-tempered, I’ll respond that, as I’m not a clairvoyant, I don’t know.
However, that question is really what might be termed a nuisance query; something that is designed to be irritating.
But next question isn’t provocative.
And it is usually asked with enormous sincerity – if not a certain urgency.
That question is “What sign is the best match for me?”.
It would appear that too many newspapers and magazines have printed just too many graphs showing which sign goes with which, and this has left a public believing that if somebody would just tell them their ideal partner’s sign, they’d live happily ever after.
Not surprisingly, it isn’t that easy.
The signs are rather like nationalities.
If Aries are the Italians of the zodiac, Taureans are the French, Geminis the Danes and Cancerians the Americans…(this is only an example – no more!).
But just as you couldn’t say that every Italian would get along with every French person, so expecting one sign of the zodiac to be a perfect match to another is completely unrealistic.
Yet the myth of the perfect match persists.
Of course often the actual birth charts of two individuals are compared.
I often do this for clients. And not just for marriage.
It’s offers incredibly useful information in business, dealing with colleagues or in hiring. And in the family, understanding a child’s chart can smooth out one of life’s most challenging relationships.
But it is true, charts are compared when considering marriage. Clients come, asking about a potential partner. And, of course, in Asia, often it will be parents who are considering a match for a son or daughter, will ask that the charts be compared.
This can be enormously illuminating.
While the sign in which the Sun is positioned might be noted, it is by no means the deciding factor.
Actually the relative positions of the Mercury of each individual – for communication – and the Saturn of each, for stability, will be noted. It’s like a corporate merger, in which the balance sheets of each are examined.
Interestingly, Venus, the planet of romance, is less important than the others.
But then, in such matches, the couple doesn’t expect to be swept away by romantic passion. On the contrary, whether they’ve actually met before or not – and still, today, many will have not met – they expect to get to know each other…over time. And they expect love to grow gradually.
I, personally, know several very happy and contented couples whose marriages were arranged. And because they trusted others – their parents and families – to make a perfect match, gave themselves time to know and understand each other.
It’s a very different approach from seeking “the right” sign of the zodiac and expecting an easy ride.
While few in the West have families who’ll do the match-making, it is possible to view the search for the perfect partner or the process of learning to live happily with the one you have with the same tolerance as exists in the East…allowing love to grow, letting understanding and trust develop over time.

Interesting post. I’m a Leo and love it! It suits me perfectly. Not sure if being with a Leo guy is in my best interest. It would be one heck of passionate, fiery relationship!
I believe destiny is in the driver seat the problem here is in the belief. Some find each other through others but no matter what method you use it still involves belief. The ability to trust that in the end it is preordain that the Universe creates as we create together, to the best possible beginning of every ending possiblity. I met my husband years before we even dated I was only in my teens then. One day I saw him with different eyes that met the soul and 37 years later we are still married. I believe it’s because we were connected long before we even knew of each other and then the Universe tied the knot. Some of us feel we are not whole unless we belong just remember we are all connected through love that can never die. When you stop and remember you don’t need someone to complete you because you are the the gift God gave to our world. I want to say to those that feel alone you are the gift and thank you. Remember it is all about who you choice to be with in your heart and soul and its not always about your spouse but that friend, sister or cousin feel the connection with your heart and you’ll never feel alone. Thank you for reading. Love to All

www.shelleyvonstrunckel.comReviewing your plans may seem a waste of time. However, if you don't now, the events triggered by Monday's New Moon will force you to do exactly that. Pause and consider your priorities before things go much further, and you'll alter arrangements that were based more on the past than the future. By Shelley von Strunckel
When you first agreed to certain plans involving friends or colleagues, things seemed simple and straightforward. Since then it's become increasingly clear that what they meant is something very different from anything you imagined or conceived of. However, they're in charge, which suggests either doing things their way or backing out entirely. By Shelley von Strunckel
To you, the word no can indicate that you're unsure or feeling inquisitive. But in the case of one particular individual, when they indicated they weren't interested in pursuing certain ventures, they meant it. While you must take that seriously, there's no harm in gently urging them to broaden their horizons. By Shelley von Strunckel
While you don't change your mind as often as your neighbouring sign Gemini, the ups and downs of your mood can result in very different views of exactly the same situation. Consider this carefully now, since you could find yourself worrying, and completely unnecessarily, about certain matters that are actually perfectly alright. By Shelley von Strunckel
Something so intrigued you recently that you wanted to absorb all you could, and for a while seemed almost obsessed. Then, when you felt you'd learnt enough, you backed off a bit. However, what comes to light over the next few days will excite you enough to create a new frenzy of exploration. By Shelley von Strunckel
True, the events triggered by aspects to the inventive Uranus, last week and next week, are unsettling. Still, they're exactly what's needed. They'll force everybody, including you, to take an unaccustomed approach to arrangements that have become far too predictable. The resulting process of discovery will give these ventures a much-needed excitement. By Shelley von Strunckel
Having only just invested considerable time and thought in complicated plans, the last thing you're in the mood to do is reorganise them. However, events are forcing you to do precisely that. But also bear in mind you're dealing with situations that are themselves in transition, and you'll ensure arrangements are more flexible. By Shelley von Strunckel
Yet again you've become so wrapped up in one particularly challenging situation that you've not only neglected other matters, you've been inattentive to those you care about most. While they'll tolerate this for a while, you're urged to explain your absence now, and to make up for lost time as soon as possible. By Shelley von Strunckel
Stubborn doesn't begin to describe the attitude of one particular individual. The real difficulty is they won't even discuss potential changes. Obviously this is frustrating. However, once you understand how they think, you'll have no problem. Talking achieves nothing. Illustrate your ideas with concrete examples and their attitude will be transformed, and amazingly swiftly. By Shelley von Strunckel
Because you think your plans through carefully before you commit, you rarely need to make major changes. But others aren't as painstaking, as you've learned in the past. At the moment, it's a different matter. Nobody, including you, could have anticipated the twists and turns triggered by planetary activity involving the unpredictable Uranus. By Shelley von Strunckel
Usually you're sure where you stand on issues and know that what you feel is right. However, several rather confusing situations have left you uncharacteristically uncertain. Actually, this is perfect timing, since next week's encounters between Mercury and the Sun with your ruler Uranus raise questions. After that, everything will be crystal clear. By Shelley von Strunckel
Facts may be facts. But one or two situations you're dealing with are moving so swiftly that what was considered reliable information only days ago is no longer correct. Obviously this complicates matters. Since such hard facts are in short supply, you'll have to rely on your intuition, which is probably better anyway. By Shelley von Strunckel
