Good article, what stuck with me most was how you can never really know someone's internal reality until they tell you, and also until you put aside your ideas of how things should be for them or trying to make the other see how you see it.

Great advice for communication. We focus on ourselves and our needs and rarely hear or listen to what another person is saying. As my father would say,"...everyone hears but no one listens." Life is too short to have petty arguments and there's usually another reason why the person is upset that has nothing to do with your actions. People need to learn to speak up for themselves and communicate how they are feeling in a calm and rational manner. Perhaps the world would be a better place if everyone took your advice.

I agree the communication is so vital to working relationships. Many people are afraid of conflict and unwilling to confront issues directly. It is important for couples to really examine the interests of the other and take a step back to evaluate where the other person is coming from and why they are upset. It makes quite a difference in how people communicate!

Great blog. I am offering conflict coaching sessions at my website www.conflicboss.com.

I am a huge believe in the dispute resolution process and effective communication skills. It makes a temendous difference in people's arguments when they feel that they are actually being listened to and that their interests are being met.
