Avatar and Messages From Spirit (part three)
It is with great pleasure that I write this article.
If you read my posts Avatar and Messages From Spirit (part one) and Avatar and Messages From Spirit (part two), you’ll know I’m convinced the Avatar movie is a spiritual masterpiece and I’m writing a series of articles based on the symbolic messages, omens, messages from Spirit and oracular guidances contained therein.
It was my intent to, in this post, continue along that vein, delving into the etymology of the word ‘Pandora’ (Pandora being the planet inhabited by the Na’Vi) and continue, in future articles, to examine the more subtle messages from Spirit in the movie.
However, I have been guided by Spirit to write this article as an examination of what is going on outside the Avatar movie.
First, I want to go on record as saying, “Wow.”
The buzz about Avatar, its ’supposed’ political and religious messages, its imagery, its…everything…is nothing short of world changing.
Bloggers, columnists, movie critics, religious and spiritual leaders…everybody’s got something to say about the Avatar movie!
Christians are debating within their own community about whether Avatar is offensive to the Christian community or not.
New Agers are dancing in the streets.
Pagans are saying, “Tell us something we don’t know and haven’t known for thousands of years!”
And a whole new culture is being introduced to the word and definition of ‘Panentheism’ as online commentary is inflamed with its use and many rush to postulate that this ideology must be what Avatar is sermoning.
For clarification, Wikipedia defines Panentheism thusly:
Panentheism … is a belief system which posits that God exists and interpenetrates every part of nature, and timelessly extends beyond as well. Panentheism is distinguished from pantheism, which holds that God is synonymous with the material universe.![]()
Briefly put, in pantheism, “God is the whole”; in panentheism, “The whole is in God.” This means that the Universe in the first formulation is practically the Whole itself, but in the second the universe and God are not ontologically equivalent. In panentheism, God is not necessarily viewed as the creator or demiurge, but the eternal animating force behind the universe, with the universe as nothing more than the manifest part of God. The cosmos exists within God, who in turn “pervades” or is “in” the cosmos. While pantheism asserts that God and the universe are coextensive, panentheism claims that God is greater than the universe and that the universe is contained within God.
I’m certain there are other religious and spiritual factions dissecting the Avatar movie so I apologize if I missed you in my commentary but…
The bottom line?
The world is in an uproar over one little movie.
It doesn’t matter that it’s a blockbuster and the most expensive movie ever made.
It doesn’t matter that it’s broken all kinds of box office records.
It’s still just a movie.
Right.
And I’m just a psychic medium.
While the world is all atwitter (literally) over the Avatar movie, I’m just standing back grinning ear to ear.
Why?
Because I know the very simple reason for all the pandimonium.
Just as Jake Sully, as an Avatar, experienced the cellular memory of the Avatar host body he incarnated in…he ‘descended’ in…the world is experiencing memories of human past, present and future.
Remember, the Avatar host body was ‘grown’ from the DNA of a Na’vi. DNA brings with it cellular memory. Like when a heart transplant patient starts to crave dill pickles when heretofore they hated the taste.
We’re watching this movie and, though everyone is trying desperately to explain it in religious terms, at the end of the day the divine spark in us all is being fanned and our flame is beginning to grow brighter….burn ‘hotter’.
Avatar, the movie, on a global level, has been able to jog our memory of who we truly are, of where we come from, of where we’re going (in both positive and negative terms), how we used to live (in harmony with all that is) and where we will be again in the future.
Avatar has been ten years in the making. Can you imagine sticking out a project for ten years?
James Cameron imagined it. And, with Spirit’s help, has co-created, not just a movie, but the way and means for everyone on the planet to hear our ‘Mother’ call out to us…telling us it’s time to put away our toys…and come home.

Thank you so much Colette for your postings on the movie Avatar. I agree with how you feel about the movie.
As I sat watching the movie, I truly was in awe of how the spiritual messages resonated within me. I not only heard the call, I felt it deep within my bones. I cried at the end of the movie & was left with a thirst for more. (I have no doubt that there will be a part II)
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone I’ve spoken to has seen the move two or more times. They recommend seeing it at the IMAX because it has a bigger impact. People who came out of the movie theater had this to say, \…do you think he (the director) was trying to tell us that we’re all connected?\ Yes, I think he was. And, it’s time to respect and take care of the Earth and ALL of it’s inhabitants.
Loved this movie! It has a great message and how blessed are we are to have it it as a movie on screen…so many times, it gave me those “chills.” So, many times I teared up watching this movie. I also suggest watching it in 3D, too.
Love it!!!! Loved it!!! I could hardly believe I was watching a movie. I felt I was a part of it. It was natural, and accurate. What a relief and excitement to have something so beautiful touch so many in so many ways. It was meant to be made and it was meant to be released at this time. The timing was not on accident. I believe it is a part of the great transformation. Can’t wait for our next blessing!
I see Avatar awakens much more than it caused for complacency. The simple idea of a group destroying for minerals, is a theme not covered ever in modern film. And perhaps it could bring to light uranium mining in New Mexico and the impact on the Navajo. Among other types of destructive mineral mining, which is virtually undiscussed.
The more that I contemplate the film, the more I see how much is mirrored from a somewhat ‘text book’ idea of Native American people. But what is new, is the ideas of an ecosystem (Native Science by Greg Cajete) and how that is weaved into the “dna” of the people. That a person can “feel” destruction of plants and animals, is real to me. And has always been even before I “went native”. So to speak, which also brings me to a theme of this movie…”going native”. The film supports the ongoing theme of “us vs.them”. When is it just all natural and all relevant? Why can’t we, as people embrace the spectrum of civilization?
Most debates I enter regarding Indians and colonizers directly enter into the “either/or”. I am always attempting to neutralize the story within myself. As, I will not take a side, so to speak. I mean, to quote the Bible (i think it’s the Bible) shall I cut of my leg to spite my foot? In other words, why would I want to disrespect our white fathers? I wouldn’t. However, I see that we are humans, and that we make mistakes, and although I am not responsible for correcting a mistake from the past (is it a mistake that colonizers colonize or a life lesson?), I am not going to disrespect a culture who has lived on a land for hundreds of thousands of years before me, anymore than I am going to pull up plants and trees who have a legacy of growth. Studying the plants and the animals and the environment is what has enhanced my life and is what has brought me to pause and change and look at the bigger picture.
Ultimately, Avatar illustrates the cause and effect of one’s actions. If anyone can take one or two of the themes away from Avatar and really think about them, I think the film wins on even more levels, beyond entertainment. If a person simply takes to heart that forceful action is dumb or that living without connection to the environment makes you a moron, then again, the film wins.
Colette…thank you so much for your three part blog about this wonderful movie! What you say rings of so much truth & I feel so blessed to not only be able to see this wonderful creation of a movie, but also to be able to hear what your thoughts are pertaining to the movie & it’s impact on the world, a person who’s opinion I highly regard. I hear there are at least two more movies in the works in the form of sequels for Avatar! I can hardly wait! I think we are on the cusp of something very big & positive in this world we live in! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!
I saw Avatar this past weekend with my husband. I am still buzzing from all the images and layers symbolism within the movie. Amazing, absolutely beautiful and created. It awakens the heart. I plan to see it again as I know I will discover more nuggets next time viewing. I smiled from ear to ear myself when I read your blog on your insights which speak to what I felt as well from my perspective enjoying the movie. So much fun seeing this in the masses now!
AVATAR ~ This movie was breathtakingly beautiful, gentle in its messages of spirituality and truth. And confronting messages of discrmination, acceptance, anger, drama…I am so excited I can’t wait to read your articles!
The response from my friends that saw the movie with me were faceted. One was adament about the movie being \hokey\ as she put it, two of the other girls were very caught up in the love story of the movie.
Another friend was thrilled with the graphics, she’s my friend who loves movies with action! So the high energy aspect was fantastic; for instance the birds flying around as they were being riden by the avatars, the scene were he had to \conquer\ his bird or die. And then there were the two of us, who share ideas constantly about metaphysical subjects daily,,,well we were both awe-struck. I felt as though we were being shown a movie to prepare ourselves for the future, to get a glimse of beauty that we can only imagine in our hearts right now. It gave me hope, that if folks can truly come together and start making some changes now, we can have such a beautiful world to look forward to. The best way to explain the \big spiritual\ message that I got was this, we have to have an open heart, an understanding heart, an accepting heart, a positive heart, but most importantly you need a foundation to place your heart. So whether you live in the forest were all things connect, or if you live in the real world here on earth ~ We all need to get on the same page. We are energy, we are all part of the same energy, we are onnminpresent. We can no longer entertain negative energies or entities, except to assist them to move to the Divine light.
In the end, he had to make the decision to leave behind his human body so that he could live in a different state of being… (Sorry I don’t want to give away to much of the movie for those who haven’t seen it yet. )
I can’t wait to see it again, this time in 3D.
Blessings,
Micha’le
I agree…WOW:) I saw peacocks and I knew I would have a vision of something amazing…And did I ever:) I can say that the movie was amazing, beautifully done and inspiring. And the messages, the symbolism, the characters, the colors, music…I shed many kinds of tears yesterday. I am very grateful that James Cameron followed his vision to completion..10 years…amzing:):):) This movie is a catalyst for many including me:)Thank you Spirit:)
I “knew” that I had to see the movie for some reason, and I was not disappointed.
I’m so delighted that the general public is being introduced (or re-introduced) to all the ideas, such as, the value of a planet being in the interconnectedness of life and how that happens, rather than a mineral we extract from earth.
I thought the amazing imagery and emotional impact made by the mindblowing tree at the centre of Na’Vi culture, was a fantastic reminder to all humans about the Tree of Life which has been with all our cultures since the beginning of time. (As a shamanic practitioner who travels on the tree, I was even more delighted!)
I think this movie was fantastic for everyone on so many levels spiritually. The visual effects alone are enough to re-awaken even the most “asleep” person.
I truly think it has the impact of changing global thinking (and I truly hope that it does).
I love your website.

[...] Avatar and Messages From Spirit (part three), I’ll delve into the etymology of the word [...]
a beautiful review of a beautiful movie. Well said Colette! For me, the message was anything but subtle, as the message IS THE MOVIE and hits you on the head over and over again. To my amazement I too heard some people though talking afterwards about nothing but the “cool effects”. They seeemed to have missed the whole point?
It doesnt matter whether you are short or tall, black or white, Christian Muslim or Jew, protestand or catholic, and definitely not democrat or republican. Human Beings are all part of nature, we are all part of this world. We are not better than it, have no right to “use it” and must stop abusing it or nature will cleanse the planet at our expense.
The parallels between the NaVi and native americans prove how cruel human beings and Americans in particular can be when there is a quick buck to make.
C’mon people, stop following political and religious leaders like the lemmings you have become. Politicians make you choose up sides to dumb you down to the shenanigans that they play so well. Religious types are all over the tube and the internet, regular people telling you THEY have a connection with God and if you pay them they will help you out. I saw a guy on TV a few nights ago that was selling GREEN HANKIES blessed by God that will make you happy and wealthy.
Green snot rags?
Please.
Killing each other over our interpretation of GOD, or over where we draw an imaginery country border is really stupid. Clearing forests and destroying our last wild places is a true SIN.It is not too late to save our Pandora. Wouldn;t it be col if a MOVIE was the catalyst for true change…Jungle Bob
WELL DONE! Colette!! Well Done!
It’s wonderful to hear the dialogue about this movie! People are talking, they sharing their thoughts and feelings. There are conversations taking place. This is a huge step for people understanding one another. Listening to one another and hearing each others perspectives. People are sharing what they see in the “big” picture as well as in the very fine details! It’s all there and “We” are paying attention! This is very Huge!
Please keep the conversation going. Your “insight” will continue to aid in our understanding and awareness as the “Shift” continues.
On a very Human note: I heard that when the movie comes out on DVD the studio will leave out the “Love” scene in the movie. I am disappointed but not surprised. Of course, the only scene showing two cultures, two worlds coming together in understanding and love would be deleted as opposed to deleting one of multiple scenes showing mass destruction of all beings and nature, showing anger, hatred, bigotry and prejudice. I guess the studios “think” this choice will sell more DVDs?
I do see there are baby steps being made. I am hopeful and excited about the awareness this film is bringing to the masses. There are still so many layers to this movie. Keep writing Colette!
Continued Blessings =)
[...] Avatar and Messages From Spirit (part three) I write about how the Avatar movie is an immeasurable catalyst. The buzz about this film is off the [...]
I finally ventured out and saw Avatar . . . the latest showing last night thinking it may not be quite so full . . . and as I was making my down the corridor to the assigned theatre room for Avatar I heard over the intercom that the movie had just AGAIN sold out . . . I hurried a bit more quickly down the corridor and as I walked into the theatre (a half an hour prior to the movie’s start time) I caught my breath as I realized the only available sitting room left was second row from the front off to the right side . . . I quickly slid into my seat and awaited this moment that I could feel in every molecule of my body was going to be one of great remembrance! I cried throughout the majority of the movie . . . perhaps it was hormones . . . perhaps it was anticipation . . . but all the same my entire being collided with collective consciousness!!! Sparks of ignition gave way to fireworks . . . fireworks gave way to illumination . . . illumination provided the stage for remembrance . . . and as my human self I cried . . . and as my Spirit self I danced . . . I wept for the fog we as collective consciousness have existed in for soo long; accepting that our cloudy perceptions were all we deserved . . . my soul danced as I sensed the dawn breaking on the horizon of our existence . . . I wept for the emptiness that consumes us when we invite ourselves to be driven with fear and greed . . . my soul danced as I recognized (in a glimmer) fear and greed’s diminishing foothold in collective consciousness . . . I wept for our GREAT MOTHER who truly doesn’t take sides but patiently holds the balance of our existence while waiting with urgency for her children to awaken into the remembrance of their legacy . . . my soul danced for us the awakening children of our GREAT MOTHER and FATHER, (although the first visions of ’sight’ can be disorienting and confusing, and often cause us to willingly return to ’sleep’ or ‘not seeing’) as more and more of us forge forward with our ‘eyes’ wide open . . .
Sometime after I had returned home again (after the movie) my tears finally stopped and I felt like something new had begun . . . a new way of BEING perhaps!
Thank you Colette! I love the work that you do, the stage that you set, the places that you lead . . . you inspire me!
James Cameron has channelled Collective Consciousness and gifted humanity with the ‘vision of our own awakening’

I have just seen the movie last Friday and was totally immersed in the story. Loved the special effects and what the Na’Vi believed in and I felt like I wanted to be part of their family, to live like them. As with nearly all movies there is a good and a bad side.
I would love to see this movie again and pick up on the bits I may have missed seeing the first time. I would say that this is the best movie for effects yet that I have seen. I picked up on the spiritual side of it almost straight away, and its like going back thru the ages of time where mans greed conflicts with peace loving people. Fellowman’s greed for riches, money and materialistic things that man has to have to make them happy and important in this world. As my eldest son used to say to me when he was a youngster, \Mum what would the world be like if money was not an issue\? I said it would be a truly different world indeed. Loved the movie and will try to see again soon before it leaves our cinema.
I took the whole family to see Avatar over the holidays and everyone got the spiritual message from the movie. At first they were reluctant to see it because they didn’t know what to expect. The response that I got from my husband and my 14 and 21 year old was that they felt it was a movie with lots of wonderful messages. A couple of times during the movie I actually got emotional. I can’t wait for the movie to come out in BlueRay so I can add it to my library, right next to my other favourite movie full of messages….The Last Mimzy.
Thanks Colette for your wonderful work, I have learned a great deal.
See you at the 2010 Toronto I Can Do It!!!

www.shelleyvonstrunckel.comIt's not that you don't enjoy undertaking projects with others. It's just that you find the slower pace of certain individuals unbelievably frustrating. While that may be true, what they offer in terms of ideas, insights and most of all, belief in you more than justifies making an effort to be more patient. By Shelley von Strunckel
Frustrating as being stuck in arrangements that don't suit you may be, there's little room for change. However, you needn't worry. The planets seem to be on your side, as you'll discover when unexpected and rather dramatic developments triggered by aspects to the unpredictable Uranus, early next week, change everything, and in a twinkling. By Shelley von Strunckel
From your point of view, there hasn't been nearly enough time to debate the value of a certain set of plans over the alternative. However, things are developing so quickly that decisions must be made. If you want to discuss this further, it will have to be after you've committed one way or the other. By Shelley von Strunckel
By the time you fully understand what was behind the rather bizarre words or actions of others, it may be too late. Things are moving swiftly, which means you'll either have to go along with what they demand or opt out, at least temporarily. There's absolutely no opportunity to talk things over. By Shelley von Strunckel
Some people live in a world in which situations are black and white, and answers are right and wrong. But the circumstances you're dealing with aren't nearly that clear-cut. While explaining this to one particular individual won't be easy, if you're going to have anything to do with each other, it's vital. By Shelley von Strunckel
Facts may be facts. But with the New Moon, in a few days' time, indicating either alterations to the actual circumstances you're dealing with or a shift in your own perspective on particular matters, you could decide things should be dealt with very differently. And begin making substantial changes within days. By Shelley von Strunckel
Ordinarily, you don't just encourage others when they're first undertaking new endeavours, you continue to back them as they proceed. Yet in one particular situation you find it increasingly difficult to drum up any enthusiasm. That may be because the individual in question has never shown the least bit of gratitude for your support. By Shelley von Strunckel
The events triggered by aspects involving the planet of innovation, Uranus, tend to be as disruptive as they are sudden. Consequently, what occurs over the next few days may seem more of a disaster than anything worthwhile. Only in retrospect will you realise how these eliminated arrangements that were actually holding you back. By Shelley von Strunckel
Your inquisitive mind is one of your greatest assets. But it can also lead to confusion, especially during times of transition such as this is. Get too caught up in exploring new ideas and considering what you could do, and you could easily miss out on the exciting, but fast-moving, opportunities coming your way. By Shelley von Strunckel
Having wrestled with upsetting issues and, frustratingly, found no solution, you're about to give up. Don't. But do take a very different approach. The problem is these are drawing you into unfamiliar territory. Consequently, before you start making decisions, your first step is to acquaint yourself with who and what is involved. By Shelley von Strunckel
Don't assume that just because you discussed certain matters recently you're up-to-date on both hard facts and the views of those involved. With the current swift pace, both the actual circumstances in question and, thus, what others think are in transition, as you'll learn when you talk things through with them. By Shelley von Strunckel
As difficult as saying an unconditional no is, especially when you know it's disappointing, you owe it to others to be frank. If you make it appear there's hope, you'll only cause confusion and upset later. Harsh as a firm refusal seems, in ending one thing, it's also the beginning of something new. By Shelley von Strunckel
