Intuition 101: Meditation and Stillness for Busy People
When is the last time you took time to really be still, perhaps through meditation or conscious breathing?
With so much going on in our lives, it’s beyond tough to find time to be still and connect to the All That Is. Between hectic work schedules and endless to-do lists, many of us barely have a chance to come up for air. Sure, you want to make time to be still and meditate, but it just gets lost in the shuffle and before you know it, it’s bedtime and you’re too exhausted. We’ve all had this experience of resolving to find the time to meditate, but then it just keeps moving down the priority list. So, take a deep breath and keep reading. Today I’m going to help you get on the road to more stillness without missing out on your to-dos.
Stillness is one of the most powerful keys to tap into your intuition and experience more calm and happiness. By moving beyond your busy ego mind and finding that peaceful place within your consciousness, you connect with the All That Is. As I talk about extensively in Remembering the Future, stillness is where you hear your intuition, which is always waiting to share messages and wisdom. Without taking time each day for stillness, our minds become chatterboxes and we lose ourselves in our busy lives. It’s then far more difficult to distinguish the difference between intuition and wishful thinking.
While there are many ways to experience more stillness, I’ve found that meditation is one of the most effective. With meditation, you experience a clear conscious connection with the Divine and your intuition. Beyond these important connections, meditation has also been shown to help people experience more happiness and better health. If you say you have no time to meditation, remember this: meditation actually gives you more time by helping your mind get calmer and more focused and inspired. When you begin your day with a clear connection to the Divine, your hectic schedule and life’s little hiccups are far more manageable.
I know meditating can be difficult. When I first meditated, I felt uncomfortable and awkward. However, once I found the forms of meditation that worked best for me, I noticed an immediate stillness and calm. I also noticed that meditation helped me better access my intuition and use my gift to help others. The more I practiced, the better I became at cultivating stillness and trust in the Divine’s plan, even in the midst of stressful and busy days. My mind also became far less chaotic. And I’ve always had a busy mind that just loves to think and analyze. So, if I’m able to practice meditation, I promise you can too!
Exercise:
So, how do you go about starting to meditate? First, make a commitment to yourself to meditate for at least 15 minutes each day over the next month. (Or, commit to a week if a month seems too overwhelming. I want to encourage you to just make a commitment to start somewhere.) If you need to, schedule it in your day. I recommend meditating either when you first wake up or sometime between 2-4pm since the mid afternoon is when our minds tend to start to chatter the most. I also like to meditate before bedtime releasing the internal noise from the day.
As I said, there are many forms of meditation. I recommend guided visualizations as they’re both effective and easy to use. For example, my Journey Through the Chakras CD has a guided visualization of each of the seven charkas and imagery and ocean sounds to help calm your mind and body.
Here is the 1st track from Journey Through The Chakras called Chakra 1. You can pick up the CD at our store.
Another way to meditate and find stillness is to slowly count your breath. This is another highly effective way to quiet the mind. In fact, the word spirit comes from the Latin word spirare, which means “to breathe.” So, when you count each inhalation and exhalation, you’re also acknowledging Spirit. I love to do this form of meditation when I’m surrounded by water, either in a pool or the bathtub. So tonight, draw yourself a bath, let your thoughts go, and focus on your breath.
Lastly, I’d love to encourage you to journal about your meditation experiences. Keep track of the days you meditated and the days you didn’t. Notice your feelings, thoughts, and experiences in each day especially noting how clear your intuition becomes. Always remember by stilling the mind, releasing your inner chatter without judgment, you become a vessel for deeper wisdom and greater happiness.
In service and love,
Colette

CBR! I love this award-winning meditation cd! It’s amazing and this visualization works for me better than all the rest! Still, I do also use your “Grounding” meds, and the “Opening the Channels” when I am in a rush first thing in the morning if I’ve not prepared well, as the latter as shorter in length. In the evening I use this entire cd, Journey through the Chakras. After that, if I am staying up and reading, right now it’s “Autobiography of a Yogi” by Yogananda, then the background music I play is the second cd from your EMI release, I Am/Grace. I also use Grace for unguided meds.
You have such amazing meds. that I encourage my clients to get on your website and download the ones they want. Since you let people review the meds and music prior to purchase on the web link, it’s a great way to see if they will like it! Thank you so much for the excellent products, easy to use website, fabulous staff who answers all questions, and sharing your gift! You Rock, Goddess!

However unsure you are about the wisdom of their plans, they're actually far more knowledgeable than you imagine. Ask them for explanations. The resulting discussions will be as informative as they are reassuring. By Shelley von Strunckel
Now that Neptune has joined your ruler Venus in the visionary sign of Pisces, you'll find that suddenly your intuition is amazingly clear. While this may not last forever, explore the resulting feelings and perceptions. The resulting insights will come in handy, especially when dealing with impossible people or situations. Often issues are best discussed frankly and openly, and as soon as possible after they arise. However, many pivotal facts are either unknown or misunderstood. That being the case, take it slowly. Say what you must but no more. And remain silent until all the necessary information comes to light. By Shelley von Strunckel
Every once in a while it's important to review what you do with your time and to consider what and who you put first in your life. While you might think you've got your priorities right, give some thought to these matters and you'll realise you're short-changing some and wasting considerable time on others. By Shelley von Strunckel
Sometimes challenging situations involving already rather uptight individuals are best approached with a light touch. While you may think there's nothing funny or humorous to be found, the actual process will cast the proceedings in a fresh perspective. You might even stop taking things quite so seriously, which alone is an achievement. By Shelley von Strunckel
Don't mistake the suggestions made by others that certain once important ventures might need to come to a conclusion as criticism. The fact is, you've been thinking exactly the same yourself, but have been unwilling to acknowledge it. The real problem is your own pride. Tackle that and everything else will be easy. Arrangements you've struggled to organise are falling apart. You can't help but feel that if they matter, you should battle for them. Take a look at the changes going on around you and, as a result, in your own life. These make it inevitable that some of those long-standing arrangements must go. By Shelley von Strunckel
One of the most challenging things for you to admit is that you've been outsmarted. It makes no difference whether the situation in question involves certain individuals or it's the circumstances you're dealing with. Still, not only must you admit that's the case, you're urged to let go of the reins entirely. By Shelley von Strunckel
Being a fire sign, you're superb at surmounting the kind of obstacles many regard as overwhelming. However, one particular situation has thrown even you. Frustrating as this is in the short term, what you learn from the actual process of figuring out ways around these will serve you well in the future. By Shelley von Strunckel
Yet again you've made the mistake of trusting somebody else to do a job for you. Actually, that isn't the problem. They did what was necessary, but not with the care or thoroughness you'd have employed. Which is why you didn't mention it. You unwisely assumed they would be as conscientious as you are. By Shelley von Strunckel
As an Aquarius, although you don't notice it, you're far more interested in what others are both thinking and doing than most. This means that often you understand them better than they do themselves. Bear this in mind now, as you discuss sensitive matters and you'll realise why they seem so lacking in self-awareness. By Shelley von Strunckel
At times progress is marked by new experiences, exciting encounters or achievements. However, the kind of progress you're making could just as well involve recognising that you really must say farewell to certain alliances, activities or even goals. This may seem unfair, but they part of the past and would be a real distraction. By Shelley von Strunckel
