is back with I Am, a gorgeous set of seven songs that
looks at life through the eyes of a fiercely intelligent
and literate artist graced with deep spirituality, an
insatiable curiosity and an open heart.
This deeply personal collection of songs reflects a
complex multi-faceted woman who has, as the cliché goes
traveled many miles in her life - a seeker, a teacher,
a student - who puts the hard-won wisdom and honesty
of her life into her music. These are songs of
a life lived that talk about things we all understand,
the uncertainty of love, of learning to stand up for
who you are, of addictions and of being a human being
in a tumultuous and uncertain time.
The CD also draws on Colette's eclectic musical tastes
that range from world music ("Marianne," Coming Home")
to Celtic, in particular traditional Irish folk music
("Black Swan") to pop ("Find My Way Home," "I Am" and
ballads "Beauty In Hard Places").
As part of this release, Colette has also included a
separate disc - a meditation CD called Grace, which is
a much-requested follow up to her top-selling guided
meditation CD, Journey Through The Chakras.
