The Making of The Dream Weaver’s Oracle Deck!

Updated: March 14, 2023

There are times in life when we reach a crossroads. A place where we know that change is inevitable. It’s part of living a life led by Spirit –– the knowing that our plans fit inside the plans Spirit has for us. Yes, we are powerful co-creators of our reality, and yet, it’s easy to forget that surrender is part of the balance of co-creation.

I recently found myself at such a crossroads when I began to receive the download for my newest Oracle Card deck, The Dream Weaver’s Oracle. This deck is unlike anything I’ve ever created before, which is why I want to share its conception and birth story with you.

I call it a birth story because for me, the process of creating each of my 14 decks is a cyclical experience – always starting with a calling, a download of ideas, and a process that without fail, takes nine months.

This time was different than the others though. When the calling came for this deck, I knew I was being asked to venture into the unknown. To an unfamiliar place with no safety net. I was being called to find a new kind of art and a new voice for my Oracle Cards.

What emerged was the Dream Weaver’s Oracle, and here is its story…

Meeting the Dream Weavers…

When the download for a new Oracle Card deck begins, I don’t have much choice about it. The oracle always tells me what it is, what it’s meant for, how it will help us, what the art is supposed to look like, and how it’s meant to be structured and used.

For this deck, it began with a series of recurring dreams. I kept finding myself in an unusual dreamscape where I began to become acquainted with the story of these mystical beings, the Dream Weavers.

These beings revealed that they have made their home in the hidden realms since before the cosmos were created. They were these strange, benevolent, and playful beings and I found myself again and again in a cave, with hieroglyphs on the walls, depicting their arrival from the stars. They were unlike anything I had experienced before, and I knew immediately that this deck would be different.

Through my meditations and dreams, I had the honor of meeting these fun beings, and I knew I was supposed to help them bring their messages to us here on earth. They are coming to us with so much love & compassion.

Creating the Artwork for The Dream Weaver’s Oracle Deck

When I received the download that I would need to take the artwork for this deck in a new direction, I had to trust and pray that the right person would show up. I knew the Dream Weavers had a different energy than my previous decks, and truly didn’t know where to begin my search for the right artist for this deck.

Joel Nakamura was a connection that came through my friend Althea. He had always wanted to do an Oracle Deck, and as soon as I saw his work, I knew he was the right person to collaborate with.

I was amazed at how seamless our creative process was together. When I shared my vision for each of the cards with Joel, he would bring these gorgeous and unique images to life that looked as though they had been pulled directly from the images I had seen on the cave walls in my dreams. Our process and our flow was pure magic.

Joel is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and we got the chance to go visit him in person to collaborate on the project and see his work in person. You can follow along our journey and meet Joel and his “neo-folk primitive” style – a blend of folk art and sophisticated iconography rendered in a neo-primitive technique.

What’s Different About The Dream Weaver’s Oracle Deck…

When you begin to get acquainted with the Dream Weaver’s Oracle, you may notice that the vibe of the artwork is different than anything else I’ve created before. For 11 of my Oracle Card Decks, I’ve collaborated with the amazing JenaDellaGrottaglia for the artwork.

When this deck began revealing itself to me, I knew it was going to be different. I knew the Dream Weavers wanted to be portrayed in a new way, and I had to follow that call!

It was scary heading in a brand new direction, but I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results and the beautiful creation this deck came to be.

Creating this deck was an honor, and truly a labor of love. Joel and I both poured our hearts and souls into this process, and we hope you love these cards as much as we do!

Excited to meet the Dream Weavers? You can order your copy of the deck here.

The artwork, message and vibe of these cards seem to reach me at a deeper Soul level than before. Thank you both for creating these cards.

hi colette! i just read about the birthing of the dream weaver’s deck, and i find it fascinating how much this process differs from your other decks! i’m glad you pushed through the unfamiliar feeling of something new coming in to download. the video that showcases mr. joel nakamura’s beautiful painting and art design / neo folk modernism — is something to behold! so many synchronicities in place, not just having you create the deck, and having mr. joel design and paint the deck — too many for you to stay lost. lol. so glad your trip to santa fe, new mexico (and your visit with your friend althea) was a success! looking forward to the launch party today! i ordered the dream weavers deck a month ago and it’s being delivered TODAY! i don’t think i’ll have it in time for the launch party though. 🙁 anyway, see you at noon! ❤️

i forgot to tell you… this is only my second oracle deck — WOTO was my first and while i have all of your decks now aside from goddesses, dream weavers will be my second. i’m not sure yet what’s my favorite part about getting to know a new oracle deck, but i would say my favorite part about getting to know WOTO has been how the message is always right on. i feel like my WOTO deck KNOWS ME more than i know her. i know i’ll know her better once i complete my wisdom revealed course! thank you for all of your decks — i look forward to getting to know all of them individually, but now, the DREAM WEAVERS along with everyone else!

I have preordered a couple of the new deck and I can’t wait to feel the energy when I touch the cards and the messages I receive from them even before I read the words on each card. I look forward to being guided by the cards and the love infused into each one by Colette.

Hi Colette! ‘I’m in the Philippines and I was 30min late for the party (12AM here and I woke at 12:30!)) but the last two readings were simply cledon! And I just learned that word – it kept coming up in the comments! I’m also getting the Dream Weavers deck only as my second deck (I was gifted with my first only last Christmas too!) so not much experience about how I feel getting a new card. All I know is that I’ve always been fascinated with oracle cards, am so excited to actually have my own deck/s and feeling ready to finally have tools with which to help others take stock of where they are! I’ve always felt like journeying with people is what I’m called to do but it’s only starting to get real now after I finally decided to ‘step into the unknown’! Much gratitude and love to you and your team!

    Shiver me timbers Colette!!
    Such a magical, divinely
    orchestrated series of
    interconnected sychronicities.
    I ” know ” that without Spirits’
    participation and guidance,
    this story would/could not
    have been written. So inspired,
and awed to view how it came
to be. Thank you for this mini
    documentary. I thoroughly
    enjoyed and celebrate the
    synergy and co- creative power.
    An inspired series overflowing
    with ” works of heart ” .
Can hardly wait to receive this gift.
    Many Blessings to everyone who
    was instrumental in birthing
    this ” wonder-filled ” new deck.
